Chapter 26. Solution #1: Speak Life And Blessing
Upon Yourself And Family
These verses will give you a start, but I encourage you to find
your own, that speak personally to you. As you read the Word,
Christian singles, note the verses that seem to “jump out” at you
and commit them to memory. Repeat them often until they become a part
of you, always ready when you face a crisis or need them. As you cast
out old, negative confessions, bring in these inspiring, power-loaded
confessions to replace them. Here is a prayer to help you on your new
faith walk: Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for my new life in
Christ, and for the power you have placed in me to overcome depression
and become all that you have planned for me to be. Please help me
renew my mind, and take on the mind of Christ. I will stand on your
promise that “the joy of the Lord is my strength.” I will meditate
on this truth and make it mine, for it holds the key to overcoming
depression Please let me feel your joy often, and strengthen me with
it. Let my new life shine before others so brightly that they will
want what I have found in You!
I ask this in the name of my Savior, Jesus. Amen
Guess what Christian singles! It’s time to take your medicine
again. I promise it will go down easy, not like those big “horse
pills” that get stuck in your throat. But first, mull over this
wisdom from English physician, Thomas Addison who lived 200 years ago.
His advice shines like a brilliant light, even in the 21st
century: “Health and cheerfulness mutually beget each other.
Laughter breaks the gloom which depresses the mind and dampens the
spirit.” Ready for some rib-tickling humor?
