CHRISTIAN SINGLE’S GUIDE TO PERSONALITY DISORDERS
WHICH CAUSE DEPRESSION FOR BOTH THE PERPETRATOR AND THEIR VICTIMS
Chapter 24. Narcissism: “I Love Me, I Love Me Not”
Most importantly, Christian singles, even the most obnoxious,
dangerous narcissist deserves our respect, and our prayers. We can ask
God to reveal to us what we can do to point the narcissist to a REAL
relationship with Him, and we can pray against the spell of
self-deception. Unfortunately, the disorder places the narcissist
firmly at odds with the Lord, because he has inadvertently committed
the worst of the seven deadly sins, PRIDE! This is overweening pride,
(not the innocent good feeling when we have learned a new skill, or a
child has received an A on a spelling test.)
You will see that many narcissists go to church, and many of them
are sure that God is on their side, and judges their enemies just as
harshly as they do! Critics of our faith may blame Christianity for
producing this personality disorder, but this is false. We are taught
to be humble, and even consider others as better than ourselves!!!
This is God’s vaccine to prevent overweening pride, a deadly
spiritual disease. Narcissists around the world use the prevailing
religion as part of their façade. Their God or gods, of course, are
in agreement with them. Interestingly, centuries ago, Christian
teachers used the Seven Deadly Sins to prevent many personality
disorders in children, before they gained a foothold. This is another
example of how our loving God provided a medical remedy in the Holy
Scripture to insure us a sound mind, if we take His wisdom to heart
and live by it.
