CHRISTIAN SINGLES DATING GUIDE: GROW
YOUR WEALTH BY WATCHING YOUR PENNIES
When you go shopping have a list so you can
plan your menus several days ahead. Do not bring the kids as
they may bend your budget out of shape. Rotate you frozen
meats and fish so that you use each while it is still fresh.
Those folks who are on the Atkins or South Beach diets are
advised to shop the outer perimeters of the store; in other
words, the back where the meat is kept, and the sides where
the fresh vegetables and fruits are. Of course not every
store is laid out that way, but what they are trying to say
is that the most fattening, most starchy foods are found in
the aisles of processed foods and convenience meals, and
also the aisles of frozen food. Well, this may be a great
idea for you too, Christian singles. If you want to save
money, avoid the prepared, packaged meals, as ounce for
ounce, they will be the most expensive food in the store. A
frozen dinner may seem cheap, but most are not filling.
However, when you can get a good deal, you could make a side
salad to stretch out the meal a bit, along with fresh bread
or rolls.
It is a good tactic to study the stores you
usually shop at regularly. Find out when their sales are
coming ( the manager will tell you) and see if you can
determine which items the store sells which they lose money
on. These are called “loss leaders” and they are
sacrificed to bring shoppers into the store, where,
hopefully they will buy other more expensive items as well.
The managers and clerks in the store are just like the rest
of us in that they appreciate warm smiles and a kind word
from regular shoppers. You can build a friendly relationship
with them and they will begin to help you become aware of
unadvertised sales and special promotions.
